Power Protein Shake

Try Dr Hoover's, post work-out, Power Shake.

Ingredients; 1 Cup of Almond Breeze Original Almond Milk, 1 5.3 oz Brown Cow Greek Yogurt Strawberry, 1 Scoop of Replenish Whey or Veggie Protein 100% All Natural Whey Protein Powder. You can throw in a few ice cubes to really chill it down.

Total Calories = 255, Carb Calories = 86 (21.5 grams), Fat Calories 40.5 (4.5 grams) and Protein Calories 128 (32 grams).

Great way to get your day started!

Optional: You can also add 2 tbsp of White Chia Seeds for added Omega 3 and Fiber. Adding only 60 calories and 5 gms of Fat, 6 gms of Carbs, 3 gms of Protein and 5 gms of Fiber!

Molasses Coffee

1 Tbsp. molasses
1 cup hot water (warm raw milk can be used for children if they have no intolerance to dairy)
Stir and drink.  If you are not dairy intolerant, this is delicious made with milk.  Great for children on a cold winter morning. *You can also use Goat's milk or Almond milk*

Lemon-Honey Drink

Place 1 tsp. honey and 1/2 tsp. fresh lemon juice in cup.  Pour boiling water into cup.  Sip very slowly when cool enough to do so without burning yourself, however it should be sipped while still hot.  Add one clove chopped raw garlic to cup if you are ill.  This is excellent for sore throats and colds and cough.

Iced Mint Tea

Recipe for mint tea.
1-2 tsp. raw honey per cup
ice cubes
sprigs of fresh mint for garnish, washed and patted dry
Complete recipe for mint tea, then add the brown sugar.  Allow to cool completely.  When ready to serve, place ice cubes in glasses, pour in cooled tea and garnish with fresh mint leaves.  Serve

Hot/Cold Chocolate ‘Mock’

Almond Beverage: use 1/2 cup Almond Beverage + 1/2 cup water
1 1/2 tsp. glycerin to taste (found in some health food stores)
1-1 1/2 tbls. Chatfield's carob powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla or to taste (optional)
Cold: Blend almond beverage, carob, vanilla, and glycerin.
Hot:   In small sauce pan, blend carob and almond beverage. Heat on low. Remove from heat. Add glycerin or Stevia and vanilla; stir. Using wire whisk, beat until frothy.

Ginger Tea

Peel and slice fresh ginger root.  Place in teapot or cup and pour boiling water over.  Cover and steep for 3-4 minutes.  Serve with lemon and honey.  Sip slowly while very hot.  This cuts through the congestion when you have a cold, sore throat or cough.

Fresh Fruit Slush

The fruit can be cut up and frozen to make into slush with less ice.

6-8 ice cubes
1 1/2 cups chunks of fruit(your choice or combination)
1-2 Tbsp. honey

Place fruit in blender and blend while adding one ice cube at a time.  Add honey between ice cubes.  If mixture is too thick a little fresh fruit juice can be added.

1/2 cup orange                                       1 banana
1 cup orange juice                                  1 cup apple juice
