Calm • Rest • Sleep
Sleep. It’s one of the most essential self-care activities that eludes so many of us.
We work hard all day. We raise our kids. We stress over finances. Our cars break down. We take our dogs for walks. We cook, we clean, we exercise and at the end of the day, we lay in bed with the day’s tensions weighing on us. Despite how tired our bodies are, we just can’t quiet our minds or relax our muscles. If we’re lucky, we get a couple of hours of light sleep and do it all over again the next day.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could fall asleep more quickly, have regular sleep cycles, and stay asleep through the night?
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could wake up feeling refreshed and recharged – ready to tackle the day?
Luckily, we have an all natural product that can help us relax, let go of tension, and gently drift off to sleep!
Crafted by a Master Herbalist according to ancient herbal methods, Good Nite offers a proprietary, synergistic blend of high-quality ingredients including a small amount of The Gift from Mother Earth to help increase absorption.
The first ingredient and the one you are most likely familiar with is melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone made by the pineal gland that helps control our circadian rhythm – our sleep and wake cycles. The production of this hormone should increase towards the end of the day as the sunlight dims and fades to red. When this happens, we turn on lamps that spill blue light over everything. Blue light is also emitted by our TVs, cell phones, computers, clocks, watches, radios, and so much more. This blue light mimics the daylight of the sun and confuses our circadian rhythm. Our pineal glands don’t know when to increase the production of melatonin and we lay in bed staring at the ceiling. Making matters worse, our bodies become less effective in producing melatonin as we age.
Good Nite offers 2.75 mg of melatonin per serving – just enough for most people without going overboard.
The next ingredient is still fairly well known and it is the amino acid L-Theanine. It is commonly found in camellia sinensis – an evergreen shrub commonly used for tea – and in supplemental form. L-theanine is often used to help lower anxiety, stress, and cortisol levels throughout the day because it does not cause drowsiness.
Valerian root has been used for centuries – dating back to the times of ancient Rome and Greece – as a remedy for insomnia, anxiety, and psychological stress. Scientists think this herb may increase levels of gamma aminobutyric acid, commonly known as GABA, which promotes a calming effect throughout the body.
How many of us have sat down in the evening with a hot cup of chamomile tea to help us relax and fall asleep? Being one of the most ancient medicinal herbs known to mankind, it’s no doubt that chamomile offers improvements in sleep quality and recent scientific studies seem to back up this claim. Chamomile is the first ingredient in our proprietary herbal blend.
Hops Strobiles, the very same ingredient used in beer production, is highly regarded for its potential effects on anxiety and sleeplessness. It is commonly mixed with valerian root and similar herbs.
Skullcap has historically been used to help soothe nerves and treat convulsions as far back as the 1700s. Today, it is generally used in blends with valerian, chamomile, and hops to help ease anxiety, stress, and insomnia.
Passion Flower use dates back to the time of the Aztecs who used it as a pain reliever and to treat anxiety, insomnia, and hysteria. Its use continues today in Native American medicine as a natural sedative.
Grapefruit Seed Extract is a multipurpose health-promoting powerhouse that offers alkalizing support for the body by naturally stabilizing pH levels. When our bodies are too acidic, our sleep quality can suffer.
Our proprietary Sea Salt and Mineral Salt Blend encourages improved dental health and relief from rheumatoid arthritis, muscle cramps, psoriasis, and osteoarthritis – all of which can interrupt our sleep.
